small studio, cool things.

autopunk is a small studio where AI meets media and art meets tech. We make apps and tools, ship them, and keep them small enough to care about.

App for iPhone · 2026

Rucksteady

A ruck tracker for people who walk with weight. It records the ruck with the phone in your pack, counts the load, and trains you for a ruck march: a dated plan to test day and a pacer on the examiner's clock. Free to record. No account. Your rucks stay on your phone.

Not in the App Store yet.

Rucksteady's plan screen: this week 5.0 miles with 27 pounds, weekly distance bars rising to test day, and pack weight stepping up from 27 to 35 pounds.
The plan tab, building toward a 12-mile test day.

Plotkeep

Audiobooks and audio dramas on Spotify lose your place the moment you play something else. Plotkeep keeps it. Share the chapter you are on, and one tap later Spotify starts that chapter again. One show is free; more shows take a one-time Pro unlock, no subscription. No account. Your list stays on your phone. Needs Spotify Premium.

  1. play the chapter in Spotify
  2. share the track to Plotkeep
  3. tap play, later
The whole app, in three steps.

Media skills library

402 free AI skills and 9 multi-step agents for journalists, documentary makers, YouTubers, podcasters and visual creators. Each skill is a plain markdown file that encodes how a professional does one job, from a logline to a fact-check. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant. Every skill is scored on a seven-part rubric before it ships; below 4.0 out of 5 it stays a draft.

What you need to provide

Required: the protagonist (role, not name), the inciting incident, and what is at stake.

Optional: genre or tone, the antagonistic force, the ironic twist.

In a basement lab outside Washington, three archivists race to recover government records that were officially destroyed — before the statute of limitations runs out on the people who ordered the erasure.

The Pitch Doctor

Turns a film idea into a pitch written for one specific broadcast slot. It knows 98 broadcaster format profiles: length, tone, structure, and what each commissioning editor will not take. Ten AI agents work in sequence, and fact-checking runs before any story is built, so the pitch never rests on invented research.

Offline for now. Write to hello@autopunk.io if you want to know when it returns.

Move On

Leaving an AI chat service? Move On reads the data export from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Grok, Le Chat or Perplexity, writes the GDPR erasure request, counts down the one-month deadline, and drafts the complaint to the data protection authority if the provider stays silent. It runs on your machine. No network, no telemetry, no logins.

Tracked erasure request for openai

Sent: 2026-09-01

Deadline: 2026-10-01 (Art. 12(3) GDPR)

Supervisory authority: Data Protection Commission

The deadline, counted for you. Example from the README.

toptop

A system monitor for the terminal that also watches local AI. It finds running inference servers like vLLM, llama.cpp, Ollama and TGI without setup, and shows tokens per second, KV-cache pressure, time to first token and VRAM spill. One command samples for three seconds and names the bottleneck. One small binary for Linux, macOS and Windows.

toptop --diagnose

Verdict: memory-bandwidth bound

bandwidth 92% · compute 24%

Token generation is limited by memory bandwidth, not compute — a faster GPU core would not help.

Sample verdict from the README, on the built-in demo machine
A verdict you can paste into any thread.

more soon.

More tools for people who make media. Some art. Some experiments that may not survive. If you want to hear when something ships, write to hello@autopunk.io.

the studio

Small on purpose. We build the thing, put it out, and keep improving it after launch.

What does autopunk make?
Apps, tools and experiments where AI meets media and art meets tech. So far: two iPhone apps, an open skills library, a pitch tool for documentary makers and two open-source command-line tools. The work above is the whole list.
What does it cost?
The skills library and Move On are free and MIT licensed; toptop is free under GPL-3.0. Rucksteady is free to record; its premium plans and the live pacer are an in-app subscription. Plotkeep is free for one show; Pro is a one-time purchase.
What happens to my data?
As little as possible. Rucksteady and Plotkeep have no account and keep your data on your phone. Move On and toptop run on your own machine. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Details on the privacy page.
How do you use AI?
As a tool with a human editor. The skills library exists to bring AI output up to a professional bar, and every skill is tested against one.
